🌿 Restore in Nature: A Day Retreat for Educators Ready to Release the Year

đź“… Date: TBA (RESCHEDULED)
đź•™ Time: TBA
📍 Location: TBA

A trauma-aware, nature-based retreat designed specifically for educators who have carried too much for too long.

This day retreat experience offers nervous system restoration, somatic release, emotional validation, and the space to clear the residue of the school year — so teachers can move into summer lighter, grounded, and more connected to themselves.

You’re not imagining it: this year was harder than the last.

You’ve carried more than your job description could ever hold.

The expectations never let up.

The system never bent.

And yet — you kept showing up.

Even when your tank was long past empty.

You’ve made it through another school year — but what’s left of you?

If you’re feeling exhausted, emotionally drained, or wondering how you’re going to refill your tank this summer, you’re not alone. And you don’t need to figure it out alone either.

This isn’t a workshop. It’s not a training. It’s not professional development.

It’s a space — your space — to lay it all down.

To exhale.

To reconnect with the parts of yourself that got lost in the overwhelm.

To clear what you’ve been carrying so you don’t have to bring it with you into summer.

This half-day retreat is for educators who:

  • Are ready to step outside the swirl of the school year
  • Feel physically, mentally, or emotionally wiped out
  • Are craving a break that doesn’t ask for more of them
  • Want to release the weight of this past year and start the summer with a clean slate
  • Long for grounding, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose

You deserve a real reset.
Not another meeting. Not a checklist. Not more pressure to perform.

Just space — real, restorative space — to be with what’s true for you, and to remember who you are beneath all you do.

What You’ll Experience

🌳 Nature as a healing partner

You’ll begin with a guided forest therapy session — a calming, restorative immersion led by Certified Forest Therapy Guide Jess Thenhaus. Through simple, sensory-based invitations, you’ll slow down, reconnect with your body, and begin to release the tension and overwhelm your system has been holding.

This is time for your nervous system to breathe, to reset from the chronic activation of stress and survival mode. In the quiet of the natural world, your body will begin to remember what it feels like to feel safe, grounded, and present.

There’s no hiking, no gear, and nothing to get right — just space to be.

🌼 A Space to Clear What You’ve Been Carrying

Through the trauma-informed guidance of Ellen Tanner, founder of Hearing the Helper, you’ll be gently supported in making space for what’s been unspoken — the exhaustion, the heartbreak, the invisible weight of the year.

This part of the retreat is about releasing, not rehashing — accessing the stories your body has been holding and giving them room to move, soften, and shift. Through carefully facilitated reflection and optional creative expression, you’ll have space to honor your lived experience, feel witnessed by others who understand, and begin rewriting the internal narrative that burnout often distorts.

You’ll leave feeling emotionally validated, physically lighter, and more connected to a sense of personal power and possibility — with tools you can carry into your summer, and into your workplace, if and when you’re ready.

🥗 A Nourishing Lunch + Gentle Connection

We’ll share a healthy, locally prepared boxed lunch in a calm, welcoming space. This is time to nourish your body and spirit, without rushing, performing, or making conversation you don’t have energy for.

Whether you feel like connecting with fellow educators or simply soaking in the stillness, you’ll be held in a space of choice, respect, and care. You won’t be alone — but you also won’t be expected to “be on.”

Come as you are. Speak if you want. Rest if you need. This moment is yours.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A sense of emotional clarity and nervous system calm
  • The weight of the school year lifted — not just intellectually, but somatically
  • A reminder that your well-being matters just as much as anyone you care for
  • Real, accessible tools to help protect your energy moving forward
  • The feeling that you are not alone — and never were

🧭 Accessibility & Physical Activity

This retreat is designed to be gentle and restorative. We’ll cover less than a mile total at a slow pace, with portions of the Forest Bathing session taking place on grassy or dirt trail areas. There’s no hiking, no elevation, and no physical exertion required — just opportunities to slow down and reconnect with nature.

If you have specific access needs or mobility concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to work with you to make this experience as supportive and inclusive as possible.

đź’« Reserve Your Spot
