Late Autumn Forest Bathing in the Gardens | November 2
Experience the Missouri Botanical Garden after hours as autumn gives way to late fall. With fewer visitors, earlier sunsets, and a quieter atmosphere settling over the landscape, this guided Forest Bathing + Nature Therapy Walk offers a rare opportunity to experience the Garden in a different way. Leaves drift to the ground, evening light softens, and the season invites us to slow down alongside it.
Inspired by Shinrin-Yoku, this gentle experience encourages participants to release stress, awaken the senses, and reconnect with nature’s rhythms.
Guided by Certified Forest and Nature Therapy Guide Jess Thenhaus of Urban Forest Therapy, you’ll move slowly through the garden and take in the gentle scents, textures, and sounds of spring. Through sensory-based invitations, the evening becomes a space to unwind, reconnect with yourself, and attune to the renewing energy of the season.
What to Expect:
- A slow, mindful walk through the garden’s late-autumn landscapes.Â
- Gentle sensory invitations to deepen relaxation and presence.Â
- A grounding pause to carry with you into the busier weeks ahead.Â
This is a leisurely walk, not a strenuous hike, designed for deep relaxation and connection. Guided by Jess, you’ll engage with nature through mindful, sensory invitations. Each session includes time for quiet reflection, optional sharing, and simple practices you can bring into your daily life to nurture your connection with the natural world.
Each walk at the Missouri Botanical Gardens is a distinctive encounter, welcoming individuals of all fitness levels.
