Forest Bathing & Nature Therapy Walk Earth Day Event - Special Collaboration with the Saint Louis Art Museum and Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra

EARTH DAY EVENT: SHARED MUSES: NATURE, MUSIC
FOREST BATHING + NATURE THERAPY WALKS

SATURDAY, APRIL, 22 – 1 pm, and 4 pm
Saint Louis Art Museum, St. Louis, MO

This Earth Day, celebrate by exploring elements of nature, music, and painting inspired by the exhibition Monet/Mitchell: Painting the French Landscape. Listen to the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra play classical compositions inspired by the artists’ musical preferences, sign up for a forest immersion walk with Jess Thenhaus of Urban Forest Therapy, learn about Impressionist art with pop-up talks by students from Washington University in St. Louis, or watch the documentary Joan Mitchell: Portrait of an Abstract Painter.

The chamber concert in the Anabeth and John Weil Gallery 251 begins at 3 pm and lasts about 45 minutes. Space is limited and available on a first-come basis.

Celebrate the opening of Monet/Mitchell: Painting the French Landscape with us during this Special Family Sunday event.

Be inspired by our own local landscape just like Claude Monet and Joan Mitchel!  Join Jess Thenhaus, from Urban Forest Therapy for a 45-minute guided walk through The Grace Taylor Broughton Sculpture Garden and surrounding park.  During each walk, Urban Forest Therapy will guide you through a series of invitations that explores nature through your senses and connects you to the natural environment.

ART AND THE OUTDOORS - EVENT

ART AND THE OUTDOORS: TEACHER WORKSHOP
Saturday, October 15th 10:15 am – 3:30 pm
Saint Louis Art Museum, St. Louis, MO

This workshop at the Saint Louis Art Museum will invite participants to slow down and refresh through guided looking, walking, and art-making activities. The workshop will begin with guided gallery explorations of artworks that are inspired by nature, reference nature, or live in outdoor spaces. Through close looking, conversation, and hands-on activities, participants will discover what students experience on field trips to the Museum and gain resources for engaging students with works of art.
